Weekly Photo Challenge: On the move

“On the move” is a fantastic theme for a photo challenge because nowadays we are always on the move .. by feet, by bike, by car .. or with a kayak on the water .. like me in New Zealand to reach Cathedral Cove.

WPC On the move

Cathedral Cove is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. This bay is only accessible on foot, boat or kayak. My german friend and I thought that there is no better way to explore the Marine Reserve and the breathtaking scenery than with a fantastic kayak tour. We started in Hahei with a short instruction on the beach about kayaking. Then we received our safety equipment and we were ready to start. We paddled along the scenic coast of Coromandel Peninsula with stunning views , clear water and sunny weather. We even paddled through amazing sea caves before we finally reached the bay of Cathedral Cove. Our guide offered us hot coffee and cappucino on the beach. We had about an hour to relax on the beach and for a swim before we had to paddle back. Being out at sea and enjoying nature at its best made this day to an unforgettable experience. If you’re ever in New Zealand and would like to enjoy an awesome day book a tour with Cathedral Cove Kayak Tours (http://www.seakayaktours.co.nz/index.html).

  1. Sounds like you had a good time in New Zealand. That panorama photo looks splendid! I don’t like water sports or getting wet, but I’ve always wanted to learn how to kayak. I hear it’s easier than learning to row a boat. That was very nice of your guide to offer you drinks on the beach. I’ve never heard of that, a very nice gesture 🙂

    • Hey Mabel, yes I had an amazing time in New Zealand .. maybe the best time I ever had. It’s just a beautiful country and it has nearly everything what you can imagine like wonderful beaches with white or black sand, rainforest, palm trees, small islands, volcanos, mountains, lakes, glaciers .. there is something for everyone.
Kayaking is very easy. You will love it 😉
